Kungiliam, a medicinal tree is a rare and precious specious found all over India. This species is commonly known as Sal tree or Shala. It’s scientific name is Shorea Robusta Gaertn. Kungiliam is used in Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani because of its miraculous medicinal power. It is good for curing chronic skin disorders, musculoskeletal disorder, tumors, diseases of oral cavity, rheumatism, fever, cough, asthma, epilepsy, ear and hair ailments etc. The oil extracted from the robusta seed is used for cooking purposes.
