Nutmeg

Nutmeg was introduced to India in the end of 18th century. It is cultivated in the Southern States of India: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. It contributes its benefits to confectionery, culinary and pharmaceutical industries. Nutmeg involves in the manufacturing process of food products, liquors and perfumes. Nutmeg is cultivated here with proper manuring for the healthy growth of the plant. It is harvested during the month of June, July and August. A Completely grown tree produces 2000 to 3000 fruits annually ie., 800 kg of nutmeg and 100 kg. of maze per hectare.
